New Home Studio treatment

I found an OC703 supplier here in Atlanta, but they only have 2 inch panels. I was wondering if I could stack two or three on top of each other and if there are any rules to follow when doing something like that. Also questions that arise:

a) If I was to create some 4 inch and 6 inch tick panels, where should I place the ticker ones, in the corners or on the walls, ceilings or maybe even on the wall behind the monitors?

b) What is the purpose of that space in between the panels and the wall and how big should it be?

c) Is this the correct order of importance when it comes to treating the room for acoustics:
1. corners where three walls intercept each other
2. vertical corners where two walls intercept each other
3. horizontal corners where the walls connect to the ceiling
4. wall behind the monitors
5. walls to the left and right
6. wall facing the monitors
7. ceiling
8. floor (i have a hardwood floor)

Please correct this list and ad where you would put ticker panels and where you would put thinner panels.

Thank you.

Excellent. This also explains my question about stacking up OC703.

I am picking up OC703 from a local store tomorrow morning. I will attempt to make 9 panels for my room.

HOWEVER,

I was watching Invader Zim and I saw the saggy armskin on their teacher, which made me wonder if my panels will be saggy too, once I hang them. If I make them exactly how this youtube video shows, they won't have a frame around them, so I'm not sure if i should make a big frame (which will be heavy) or just glue them and put some bolts through them and maybe a few pieces of wood on the back to run the bolts through.

Will this even be an issue?
