Metal dude
I finally did it, went out sat and bought a pair of ps-8's. They sound killer. I a-b them against the new mackie's(hd 624) this is what i noticed with my ear, listing to a few of my favorite cds(death metal):
Ps-8:
Handles the low end much better, especially with blasting kick drums.
Smoother hi end.
The low mids seemed a little scooped.

Hd-624:
Much clear mids(what i really liked better than the events)
Harsh hi end, a bit anoying for my ear.
Muddy low end ( with all the kick drums and detuned guitars)
$900
Im pretty happy that i made the proper choice according to my musical tastes and i made sure that $$ whas not a huge factor in the choice.
