New equipment suggestion

Hey guys after a few posts, and a few system crashes I realized that for me windows is not the most stable os in the world, and I"m sticking with mac. So now I have a few questions for all you experts out there. I was comparing prices for a pro tools hd system and a motu hd system, and motu has the lead at about a thousand bucks cheaper. Here my question. Granted I get a motu system what control surface do you guys suggest. And if I go with the pro tools system most likely the LE, what is the difference between the 002 and the control8. And for recording can I connect a few pre amps to the 002 and multitrack in pro tools? So any comments would be greatly appreciated thanks

Don't take this the wrong way but I've had a Mac running the 002 setup. I ditched it for a PC with a MOTU 2408/HD24 setup. WAY cheaper and very stable for me. I haven't had a problem in years.
