Greetings, I have purchased quite a few things to upgrade my studio gear(just a personal studio) over the past 6 months and haven't had the time to integrate any of it into my console/racks. Now I'm ready to strart. Usually, before I install new items, I integrate it by way of my wiring diagram which is an Autocad file. I can pull up my whole sysem on the screen and immediatly see how any system or subsystem is patched in to the whole. Now I have to update the file before actually installing the gear. However, theres some new toys here that would probably be better patched a certain way. This is where I'm lacking some MIDI and digital expertize, as my studio has been mostly analog from the begining, and I want to keep it integrated into the whole. My goal is to get the music production aspect of MIDI/Digital going, mostly to learn composition. I don't know the best way to approch this here. I can post a list of my system maybe? Or maybe I can post the file, but its autocad, and this file is REALLY BIG. Thats because I have all sorts of links and info on each item as well as the image of the diagram. Works real well when I want to patch something in quick. Most of the new stuff is digital software and hardware, some analog signal processors, and midi
interface/patchbay stuff. But I'm a guitarist(midi guitar is my goal) and my experience with midi is none to say the least. Tried to get band in a box(lol) to play a keyboard once. what a joke. Really. Seriously though, anybody got any ideas? My wiring access is pretty hard to get to, so once I get the bays wired, it pretty much stays that way for a while. But this one is COMPLICATED. I'm real familliar with -10, but the digital-no. I am a computer draftsman so I am familliar with computers to a degree, certainly no expert, maybe novice when it comes to digital audio and MIDI. Thanks now for any help or advice. Just want to have fun with this stuff!!!
