just buit this desk recently i thought id post it ..its pretty cool i think

Hey thats great! I wish I had thought about getting into recording at 15. I'm 34 now and can only imagine if I started at 15. Keep on doing what your doing and learn (read) as Im sure you already do as much as you can. Congrats on the Setup.

Excellent! I started recording/mixing at about the same age. Nice desk; have any other pics of it? What materials did you use?

Don't worry about it... I can assure you that some of us have used significantly worse equipment early on. In fact, some of us still can't get rid of it :-D

Behringer does make some garbage, but the particular console you have actually sounds fairly nice. Considering what it costs, it sounds even nicer :)
 
yeah it is the 3282A...thanks guys for all of the encouragement! :D
 
i used oak plywood for the sides and i glued together three solid pieces of oak for the overhang and the console rests on some MDF board... ill post some other angles of it in the future :)
 
Nice desk Nick. If that mixer has the rocker on/off and phantom switches like the other Behri's I've used, be extremely careful with them. Make a habit of gently "rocking" on or off. I use to have a bad habit of "flicking" the switches and I've had three break on three different pieces of behri equipment. Probably partially my fault, but I don't think they invested in the best switches either. Keep up the good work.
 
no it does not have the on/off switch for phantom power so i should be ok.... thanks for the heads up though
 
So does that mean phantom is on all the time? Make sure your mic cables are in good shape!

I just looked at the picture again and I noticed you have Wharfedales. Are those the 8.1 or 8.2?

Nice job on the desk. It would be cool to see it from different angles.
 
Well guys, its sad. Another one has bit the dust. He's a gonner. DIY already, and he's only 15.:o :D Nick, you don't know what you've got yourself into....this is the most addictive interest that man has devised yet. Quit while your ahead! Join the local GAA(Gearlustaholics Anonymous)..stay out of your studio at least 2 hours a day...get a girlfriend...collect stamps.....anything to
keep that next mix fix away...or the next design/build craving.. :eek: :p Oh, wait...you've already gone hybrid deep???? Oh well, your a full blown addict now. The only thing that will help you now is marriage and a wife who hates music :D Good luck!!(great job btw)

yea? Thats what they all say! :p A week later its......oh CRAP theres a mixer on EBAY honey!! ONLY $xxxxxxx PULLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE ??? ;) OH, speaking of mixers on ebay....YIKES, only an hour left for the M3700 :eek: lateeeeeeeeeeeeeeer....

looks great! i am about to take the big step and start a real studio room soon
and i should have a nice looking desk too... but right now i am just wanting to ditch my laptop for recording and switch over to a desktop computer (money is all set aside for it now) good luck dude.
