Has anyone else had problems with the new Delta 1010 XP drivers? I tried installing them last night, and my system crashed in a most nasty fashion the second any app tried making noise. Same result after repeated re-installs and reboots. I ended up rolling back to the previous driver, which isn't ideal but it works most of the time.

Check their website for the latest ASIO driver for XP.

Stealth,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I must be an idiot. I can't seem to find any new 1010 XP drivers on the Midiman website except version 5.10.00.29 (the one that crashed my system), which has the WDM label. The only other driver on the site is 5.10.00.27, which is the old one I reverted to when 5.10.00.29 crashed and which also appears to be a WDM driver.

Here's the web page I am going to; am I doing something wrong in my search? Or am I just too blind to see it?

http://www.midiman.com/support/driversearch.php and then setting product to Delta 1010 and OS to Windows XP.

Thanks again,
Kelby.

i've had the .29 driver for over 2 months.. i haven't had a problem

Did you run the uninstaller in the .29 driver download before installing the new driver? You should.

i rebuilt my system and i ended up just installing the .29 driver.. i never upgraded or had to uninstall an old driver...

I have never had a driver update crash problem - but then I always run the Delta Uninstaller first.

If you don't, you end up with mis-matched files, hence a crash.

I've found the 29 driver perfectly stable in XP too.

is there any reason to upgrade the drive if everything is working fine?

I followed your advice and uninstalled first. Now it works beautifully. :)

Thanks,
Kelby
