Yeah except he keeps wanting to pull some of my rack stuff (don't have much) for live use. Looks like I'll have to buy more (translated - better) gear Already lost my FX unit. Now he wants my compressor. What you'll do for your young'uns.
DD looks great!!!
Ok so what do you mean drop down the pedestal, does a 17" fit
in that center "pedestal"?
Does it move/adjust? Looks like it form the 2 or 3rd pick

Giganova - I want those damn LCD monitors!!!! I'll be using two 17" CRT monitors and they're so damn big. Hell I might have to drop the monitor pedestal down so I can see what's going on through the window. I hope to be able to pick up a couple of 15" LCD's (maybe for Christmas) but right now I have to spend $560 on tempered glass. I'll be using 5/8" on the live room side (3'x4' and 3'x3') and 1/2" (3'x4' and 3'x3') on the control room and vocal booth side.
Oh yeah, I just put the couch in the control room too. It's been sitting in my living room since about February. The house is slowly starting to look like a home again
Tonio - No it doesn't adjust. I would have to cut it to bring down the height and remount the pedestal top. It would easily hold a 17" monitor on top. That's what I have. Actually it would probably hold a 21" monitor but I don't want to watch movies on this thing
One thing though. Under the desk "wings" you only have about 14 1/2" before you hit the back support which runs the length of the wing. My rackmount computer case is 21" deep. It just looks too cool in a rack to put it back in a tower case. What I'll probably do is have Jaybird build me a wooden rack that fits snug up under the desktop. Since I would have to cut out part of the back support to do this the wooden rack would support the end of the desk. Jaybird has been on this forum a lot and builds some really nice racks for a very reasonable price.
Oh yeah. With a single monitor I figure the audio monitors would be spaced 4 feet apart. If I put two 17" monitors up there (small board up under them and sitting on pedestal) I would need to increase the audio monitor spacing to 5 feet. If I didn't then I'm concerned about the inside edges of the speaker "soundfield" reflecting off the computer monitor sides and causing some sort of effect on the mix. Of course that means my mix position would need to move back one foot also. Maybe a little trial and error.
DD, could'nt you cut out the wings's back supports? You could get a rack to fit the computerand still support the wing. That would work, but what about isloating the noise?
That setup would be cool for me too, but that center pedestal would need to be cut. How about cutting it off, and somehow angling the surface for the CRT. Man I need to get a flat panel.
It would seem that the wing angle should be right even for 2 CRT's. It looks ok in the jpgs, but I guess actual may be different.
Let us know how it goes!!
