what is good configeration setup (presently using soundblaster w/ onboard sysntisizer which allow me to use session drummer) my neighbor has mia sound card and need external device to use the drummer) i like the convience of my card but can i somehow invoke session drummer with a better sound card that doesn't have a built in systhesizer?
also what element do i look forto get a good computer setup (how much ram, p4 (speed?), or amd (speed), what hard drive setup etc

What program are you running? If it is Sonar, you can route Session Drummer through a DXi such as the Edirol VSC. This way you won't need any hardware. Most better sound cards do not have midi synthesis capabilities.

If you want to use Sound Fonts, you can pick up the Live Synth Pro DXi for about $60.

in addition to what Dachay mentioned...

Get what your wallet can get... general rules, (usualy) the higher the spec, the better you'll get. At least go for:
PIII 1GHz and 512RAM
40GB HD 7200Rpm (better get dual phisycal HD - 1 for OS & 1 for audio)
WinXP
M-Audio soundcard for audio work.
SB Live! is good for MIDI work.

This is not true and you know it, James. SB Live-cards should be sold with a hammer, used to smash the card when it's driving you crazy. ;)
