new classic 50

Just bought a new Peavey Classic 50,well i traded my Marshall Valvestate 100 watt stack for it and a lil boot .Anyhoo i love it getting a whole lot better sound than i was my question is thought, what are some of the things i need to keep in mind about tube amps ,this is my first ,i know they,tubes amps ,have had a reputation as being delicate from what i've heard .Any help would be appreciated....later
 
The Classic 50 is a great amp. Very warm sounding. I play two Les Pauls and a Hamer Echotone (semi-hollowbody) through one with almost no effect pedals. I usually just like the pure amp tone.

Depending on how much you play and how hard you drive your tubes, they will eventually need to be replaced. It's hard to determine how often. I've had mine for two years and haven't replaced them yet but I don't play electric everyday or drive the tubes hard.

The tubes are well protected inside the Classic, they aren't fragile while they are in the amp. Just don't drop the amp off the back off a car and you'll be fine. :D
 
Congrats on your new classic 50...its a fantastic amp. If there is anything i would tell you to bear in mind when it comes to tube amps it would be this: if it ever goes out on you, don't just start wiggling wires and tubes to try to get it to work.....tube amps store alot of electricity (even when they are unplugged)....it can shock the piss out of you.

thanks for th help ....talking about th semi hollow ,i have a 62 es-330 that when i would switch to it i would have to turn th amp up ,with th tube amp it's unbelievable it sounds so awesome it's so full now just from th amp change.I too have a slew of pedals but i'm probably going to do away with most if not all of them.Well thanks again ........later
