Has anyone tried this one yet? Sounds enticing:

Behringer has less expensive condensers - is this one better than the others?

One source says they were out in April. This one seems to indicate an August release?

I've never used any behringer mics.. I did use a behringer pre a few years back, and it was noisy.. Of course you never know until you try it.. but the way I look at it.. there's got to be a reason sweetwater won't sell Behringer stuff.. In the experience I've had with Behringer.. I stay away from thier stuff.

I'm in the middle of the road on Behringer. I own and use 3 pieces, at least, of their equipment, and they have done everything I have asked of them, and more. That said, their mixers are notorious for dying on the job, and I wouldn't select their microphones, because there are plenty of other sellers of Chinese microphones that have better quality control, and better customer service.

Cheap mics are a lot like cheap guitars. You can find one that is at least fairly good, but you have to play a lot of them to find one that isn't screwed up. By and large, build consistency is not a feature of cheap Chinese gear, so you need a parent company that will ride shotgun on the manufacturers, and weed out the dogs and send them back. That is not Behringer's modus operendi. If I need a cheap mixer, I'll buy Yamaha or Carvin. If I need a cheap mic, I'll buy Studio Projects, Marshall Electronics, CAD, or AKG.

There are simply too many things that can be done badly building a mic, or a mixer, that can only be found by someone who has a clue and gives a damn. Neither Behringer or the Chinese meet either one of those requirements.-Richie

I have two Behringer mixers and they both work fine.

I take it nobody has actually tested the mic under discussion?

Like buy one myself...not in a hundred years...Id have to go on youtube and listen to them there.

I just have no reason to think that behringer is going to start making quality stuff all of a sudden...and even if you bought it...it is tough to sell once you tasted what a real mic is supposed to sound like.

Dan I posted another thread asking about this mic, the Behri T-47, and ART new series of LDC's. I know most have a biased view of these brands but a friend here in Vegas has got T-47 and says it's a steal for the price. I'm trying to arrange for him to come over with it or to go visit him so I can hear it. The ART's though are next on my list to buy. I like ART products and at under $100, I don't think they'll be any worse than other low cost LDC's from China...

Bring some mics and post the shootout on youtube...do alot of us a service...

I may Just do that myself when a few things come in...its kind of a shame I sold some of the mics that I could have used like the Octava 319...and the MXL ones...but they would have just been the bad mics...I definately have much better ones now.
