I took a sample from Reason 3.0. I worked it into Fruity Loops, and I came out with a decent sample song. I'm going to have my friend sing over it, he has a beautiful voice and if I tone the drums and snare down a bit, I think ti would work out perfect. But, I thought I'd whack it up and see if anyone on here likes the idea at all.

Sure, it's sampled. But, again, I'm not doing it for profit, I'm doing it for entertainment :P

YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON PRODUCING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, seriously. This beat is NASTY, fam... I could kill that beat, so easily it isn't even funny... Just listening to it for that 40 secs, I already have a concept for a song.

Obviously, if mixed better, it'll be a banger... but man, I hate to say this to someone who has a passion for rhyming but...

PUT THE MIC DOWN, AND FOCUS ON PRODUCTION. You're nice on the production tip, man... play to your strengths.

hmm...I guess I could do that...and get better at production, I know I've improved incredibly in that aspect. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look into it. :)

Ahh, Aight. I think I'm going to work with Fruity a little bit more, and see if I can adjust some settings on some of the premade synth's already, to make it fit with the beat. If anything, i'll throw an orchestral low tone in it, make it wrap with the beat. I also need something different, it's missing something, like a few cymbals every now and then, and I think I might throw some other layers onto it, to make it final, because right now, it's too bland.

I guess maybe I should stick to production and steer clear of the rap for a while...eh?

Your beats are so much better than your rapping that it isn't even funny. This is your calling. You aren't a rapper. Throw a verse or two on a track now and then if you have to but this is where you will make a career out of music...

Yeah, that's why I said in my reply to my other thread that I'm just going to focus on beat production for now, but on the side still make better lyrics, and work on my flow and artistic ingenuity. :)

I don't have the greatest beats in the world, but I'm trying.

I think your beats are much better than most just starting and even some that have been doing it for a wihle. I think you could be a pretty decent producer if you take the time to learn audio engineering propperly and work on your beats. And you know Im not one to give out undue praise.

That's true. Thanks a billion, I'll continue working on my production. Do you have any ideas of what I should read or do, to learn audio engineering on my spare time?

Beat's not bad. I wanna say I've heard it before in Reason? You didn't take someone else's melody on one of the demo tracks and tweak it did you Lapse? You know I'm not trying to bust your chops though.

Seriously, if you want to rap then do that.
If you want to be a beat maker and/or produce, do that too.

BUT, don't try to do it all at once. Get your game up in one area to where you're comfortable with it and then flip it to something new. You're young so you've got time to learn some interesting shit.

Give this kid a few years in the right direction and he's gonna develop into somethin. And that's coming from someone who's critiqued him from damn near day one.

Just don't let your head get too big and forget your folks.
