Aight, Aight. So I was workin' in the studio (my 9x9 bedroom) the other day, and I was thinking to myself. What am I missing?
Why can't I create a 'hit' beat?
Well, then I came to the conclusion I didn't have the right sounds, I didn't have the right equipment. So! Being the risk taker that I am, I recorded a few piano clicks from my grand piano (which is 125 years old and came over to america on a covered wagon, I know pathetic but it seemed to do decent) Although not tuned to the perfection of most, I decided on a certain hit, and I made a piano loop with it.
So, after making the piano loop, I realized.. "Wow, I don't have a large variety of claps, snares, or kicks for that matter.." So, I went to my Keyboard (Which is again, that cheap Radio Shack one).. and I worked on a few things, and I recorded a few of the noises that I enjoyed. I edited them up in Fruity Loops, and I made a tight line.
It's missing a bassline, and probably a few more. But for the fact that all the sounds are recorded with my USB Condensor microphone, and they turned out this good of quality makes me realize that maybe I can get somewhere iwth shitty equipment.
So, I decided, I'm going to take the risk again, throw up a beat, and see what ya'll think.
http://www.myspace.com/strictproductions Click here, and listen to "Fly"
OR
click here, to listen to it directly (for some, it downloads, for others it plays through the browser, depending on which browser you use. I use Firefox and it plays in the browser, so to each their own)
I need opinions, advice, and what I can do to spice it up. It's not the full beat, it's just a sample, first few bars are the Intro and Chorus, middle is the Verse, and last is the Chorus & Outro.. which the intro and outro need to be worked on, as well. But I usually do that to the specifics of the artist using the beat.
So anyways, enough is enough. Check it out. & Comment it up! ya feel me??

Also, for those of you that have been watching my improvements, have I improved?
