I don't think I am going to bid on it. I am still looking at all my options and as good of a deal as I honestly think it is, I just don't think I am ready to settle on just 4 tracks. But it is like new............omg...........decisions decisions decisions.

If I had not scored a NIB 34B a few weeks ago then I'd be pissed as hell! . I speculate that the seller got a local cash offer and ended the auction early. Damn tease!

Even if you did, the seller could have easily cancelled your bid and sold to someone who offered him more $$$ locally.

That's very possible that someone convinced the seller to sell outside of eBay. The email would go like this:

Hi,

I see you didn't get any bids on the 34B .. Say, I'm really close by and wanted to make a cash offer of $550 for the machine right now. I can be at your place in an hour, tops. When you get my money you can then cancel the auction, fair enough ? $550 is a good price, more than you'd get on eBay. For example, there was a 34B NIB recently that went for $442 so I'd be surprised if you'd get more than $500. Again, I'll pay cash right now and I REALLY want this 34B. My phone # is ...................... or you can email me at ...................... etc........

Convincing, ain't it ? Yeah, that's what I believe happened.

I know your stance on this Ghost and it may be that you're right but I'm leaning towards that this infact was an "unused" item. I've seen it happen and can see how it can happen. Person got an offer outside of eBay, I believe, and that it why he cancelled. I actually emailed him to ask what's up with the early end to the auction and will post his reply when/if he answers

The only thing that i wondered about was he said it had been sitting in his garage all this time. That to me is not the best place to store anything like a Tape deck.
