new 01X!!!!

Yammy announced a new mLan device at MM.. the 01X! Seems like they took the lead that the EZbus and Tascam had already started... to make a digital mixer, control surface, and audio/midi interface all in one!... with firewire this should be a considerable improvement in the problems of the past usb devices! I hope this is a good as i expect... check it out at

Looks like a non-proprietary Digi002, probably with better converters. Hopefully it's cheaper than the Digi002 too, but probably not.

I am totally digging the new Tascam 112 (I know, opposite end of the spectrum).

i have been itching to buy an EZBus since they first announced it...but then after the huge delay before they got them into stores i kinda started to wonder. I have read problems with some stuttering of audio through the USB... so i was a little turned off... but i liked the idea of a standalone digital mixer ontop of the other stuff...seems like yammy took it one step further... cant imagine problems with firewire... if it has the same architecture of the 01 series i guess that is a plus?!

i thought the digi 002 would be similar in that it could run anything...but at a seminar the digi rep said he didn't think it could do that... i dont imagine they are supporting other companies software... so ... yammy it could be!
