Im looking to upgrade my studio, and right now im looking at some new condensors. The U67 is one of my favorite mics, but a real one, or even the TLM, would cost me an arm and a leg. Does anyone now of any good copies by other companies? Definitely looking to go tube if possible.

Why not look at the Gefell tube mics?

Made in the original Neumann factory - the M92.1S and UM92.1S use the original Georg Neumann M7 capsule - and affordable.

Or go for the new re-issue 1950's CMV 563 / M 7 S

This gentleman OKTAVAMOD does some really impressive work - that's with in just about everyone budget.

The Peluso mics get incredible reviews but for the price they are well beyond the realms of many of us (although still cheaper than getting a real U67)

I'm still very impressed by Gauge Mics and their tube mic sounds pretty cool, although it lacks that certain "something" that a U67 would have.

Otherwise, as moresound said, the oktavamod stuff is awesome.

Have you got a price bracket in mind or would you rather spend more a get something closer sounding to the U67?

I have several Oktavamods and am very impressed! Rode, MXL, Oktava, Apex .....
