Hey gang,

I just picked up an MSI Wind netbook, and am wondering what sort of recording software to put on it. It uses a 1.6gHz intel Atom, which, if you're not aware, runs about the equivalent to a 900MHz Celeron for audio apps.
So my question is this:
For multitrack audio recording, what is the best light-weight app to run? By light-weight, I mean which application goes the easiest on processor resources when playing back multiple audio tracks. In the past I've found Samplitude to be pretty good, Adobe Audition 1.5 to be decent, while Ableton Live runs quite sluggish.

Thanks for the help.

The guys over at the Reaper ( www.reaper.fm ) forum have reported great success with Reaper on netbooks.

+1 on Reaper. Few apps are as lean & mean while actually being usable.

Cool. I just gave Reaper a try and it works brilliantly. 12 tracks of Audio with some plugins and still only using 50% CPU. Perfect!
