I'm having problems operating Neon within cubase. I've created a sequence and this plays fine through my Roland guitar synth or Alesis drum machine. Neon does nothing though. I can't find where to assign the midi channels within Neon either, and the help menu didn't provided me with much info. Can anyone offer any advice?

do you have the vst instrument powered on and on the particular channel you want to play back is the output set to Neon?

I have the Neon turned on, but do I need to turn on something called VST instruments, and if so, where would it be?
Also as far as the channels are concerned I assign a channel in cubase no probs but I can't find anywhere within NEon where I can assign channels.

it sounds like you already it turned on if you can select the neon but here goes anyway...
in Cubase goto Audio>VST Instruments and then when the VST Instruments bar pops up, left click and hold where it says "no VST Instr" and when the lil popup appears, choose the Neon. When the Neon is selected press the power button on the left of the VST Instrument bar to "power" it up and then goto the arrange window, highlight midi track1 and on the left where it has the track info (if it's not visible, click the lil square with the colored lines on it in the lower left on the very bottom of the arrange window)and left click where it output and you should be able to select the VST instrument (Neon). Now with the Track1 still highlighted, you should be able to trigger it from you midi keyboard or if you've imported a midi file, that track's output should be routed through the NEON.

I have tried all of the above but to no avail. I can't think of what else it could be. Greatly appreciate your help though. If you get any other thoughts on the matter , I'd love to know. Thanks.

I dunno if this has been touched yet, but in the arrange window, do you have the Midi output set to NEON?
