Need your help to put on web

HEY again,
I need your good people's help in regards to getting a couple finished songs up on the web. I said before I'm new to rec. but have played music for over 30 yrs. and want to get a feel again as everythings so different now from when I use to play , late 70's -early 80's, and musicians were mainly musicians and sound engineers were just that. Now it seems vs. versa! Nothing wrong with this but I just feel kinda left out and this whole computer evolution happened so fast -and kids are making records that hardly know how to carry a tune, but they're electronical whizzes and I'm not that and don't want to compete -just play and let my music be heard again. So I'd appreciate it if someone could walk me thru the steps of getting a cassette connected to my PC and then where to go from there. If I need to be more specific please ask me to, and in what regards. I might add that I bought N-track but have not yet learned to use it for I need a manual that tells you how to use the manual. Yeah, I know -EINSTIEN I'm not.

Well Tommy, If you plan to just use your soundblaster to record to and n-track as your sequencing program, then its not to hard.
But you do need to learn the basics of n-track before you get started. I dont use n-track but most are the same. It is a virtual multitrack recorder in software form.
Tell ya what, plug something in to your soundcard, go into your n-track program find a record button say on track 1 and push it. If you hear it then your getting somewhere. If not and your completly stumped, then you got a lot to learn.

Thanx Stealth for the reply. Sorry it took so long to get back but PC went down last week and still getting it all together.
O.K. I have it hooked up, etc.. and yes I can record it to N-Track. Now what do I do with it to bounce it back to my 4 -track so I may free up some tracks to add more on. and a final mix after that. If you could help me any further I'd really appreciate it.

You should be able to do all your tracks and bouncing within N-track software. Im assuming N-track is a multitrack recorder.
Do your complete mixdown on the PC. If you want to bounce the entire song over to your external 4 track, just tie it in from the output of your soundcard.
You said you wanted to post your music on the web right ?
You should be able to convert your final mix to an MP3 and then post away.
Now if you need to free space as you said, does this mean your hard drive is full, or do you only have 1 track available to record to in n-track ?

I'm using a TASCAM 424MKIII 4-track rec. and that's where I need to free up tracks to put more on. I couldn't figure out the N-track ,[multi track rec.] besides the basics of recording my tracks, so sort of knowing this 4-track I have opted to use it instead and doing all my recording on the 4-track. Plus I like the sound of tape- es. on the guitar parts as they seem to sound warmer and more natural to me anyways. JMO! So I guess the 4 -track is my main machine for now till I learn more etc.., and N-track is used for bouncing to free up more tracks on my 4 track and then I guess I'll have to put it all back on the Ntrack to get a final mix and convert it to cd. Something like that....
