Need to repair a MD416, how does it open?

Has anyone here ever opened one of these? The mic gives no signal, so I need to look inside.

If you look at the mic it seems fairly simple to open. It seems to open like a SM58 type of mic, but nothing will budge.

I just wanted to know if anyone has any expierence before I get out the heavy artilery and inevitably put scratches al over it.

As far as I remember, there is a screw down near the XLR - you remove this and the whole insides with teh XLR attached slides out.

But be careful.
