Anybody know the best USB interface to connect a Tascam 488mkii to M1 Mac Mini and Garage Band? I see an old post about the US100 interface but im willing to assume that one is outdated.

Not clear what you mean to do. If all you intend it for is to take the stereo output from the Tascam into GarageBand, then you'd only need an interface with 2 line inputs. In that case there are many cheaper options, like the Behringer Uphoria UMC204HD.
