Whats good yall. What soundcard would you recommend in the $400 dollar rance for recording vocals. I want to be able to plug my phantom powered Rode NT1 into it as well. My main concern is quality. I want something that sounds really good. Help me out

In the $400 dollar price range:

Depending on your needs: if your only needing a 2 channel recording card, then I would look at the Echo Mia. I've had it for ~3 years, and it's been wonderful. If you want to expand to 4, 6, or 8, then look at the M-Audio Delta series. The Delta1010LT records 8 for $280.

If your main concern is quality, why restrict yourself to a soundcard with a built in preamp? At $400, you can get a 2-track Audiophile 24/96 (~$150) which only takes line-level signals, then put your $250 left over into a preamp? That way, you can upgrade the preamp later (if necessary).
