That first one sounds like Trent Reznor & Rob Zombie had a freaky double date with Fatboy Slim & Paul Oakenfold at the Chuckie Cheese. You can quote me on that!

I'm all for including more organic instruments into club music, but I wouldn't even have a clue what to call it. If it's good, it's good.

This intrigues me. Keep it up.

Sonds like a throw back to the late 80's pop to me. I like it.

hehe, that's what i thought--the beginning guitars in "orbit" (which is the one i'd pick out of the 4) sort of reminded me of an inxs tune or something. :D i don't feel the vocals in "neonlies" do your musical skills justice... not that they're not good, but the music really soars above them. or maybe it was such a departure from your other songs that it threw me off? call me kooky but the male voice sounds like a willy nelson/bono mix. ;) but i like the ambient vocals.

Inxs was the same band I thought of. Boy I guess we're showing our age (we'll... speaking for myself that is)

In my project we've tried a few songs similar in style (techno with acoustic / electric guitar instrumentation) with varying degrees of success. It's really tough to maintain the groove with techno without playing the same licks over and over. If you're curious what we came up with try Popular and Starz, both recorded a few years ago. Pardon the playing errors, these are older songs and could use some revision! lol

"Orbit" - nice song, you managed to keep it interesting but dancy. Good guitar tone as well, meshed right in with the electronic feel.

"Rocksplosion" - Ministry did it better. Like the clean guitar sound/lead, but not over this beat.

"NeonLies" - Different from the first 2 tracks. DJ Tiesto makes some interesting techno-vocal stuff (like In search of sunrise). This kinda reminded me of it. The vocal parts were a ltitle too tame for my taste, had me wanting more after listening to those other 2 tracks of fury. :p I couldn't even stand to finish it after 4 minutes.

"StarGate" - And now part 3 of the tour! lol Ambient techno with an emo feel. This had too much Acid and not enough musician. Acid, the looping software that is! I don't mind ambient techno, but after hearing stuff like Ray Lynch and some of the older ambient British import stuff, this just doesn't compare or hold my attention.

You had something true on the industrial side of things, then kinda lost your feel when you tried getting too fine on those last 2.

Techno is not my bag..

Although it always conjures visions of hot chicks dancing...okay not the time for that!
Anyway
The closest I've come to REALLY listening to techno is maybe Seals first album and the occasionally Moby tune from the radio, BUT this sure sounds like techno to me.

Neonlies is actually my fave.. Hmm..Sounds a little like modern day Brian Ferry??

Orbit was pretty cool.

I don't Scrubs had some pretty good descriptions:
"Trent Reznor & Rob Zombie had a freaky double date with Fatboy Slim & Paul Oakenfold at the Chuckie Cheese.".. hahaha..

ANYWAY I think it sounds really good.

I don't really play heavy guitar stuff anymore but I do dig the tone on the first one. What were you playing through? Interesting style. I think alot of people have tried their hand at this type of thing but it is hard to pull off. Sounds like you're pulling it off pretty good to me.

Sweet.
My personal favorite is the intro play on the second one. That was a magic and great rythm and groove.

Totally not my style of music, but Neonlines is done pretty slickly. Lotso chit goin on in there. Strong creepy vox too, is that you?

Nicely done.
