I am looking for the most enexpensive (while still sounding decent) dual input USB interface. I am looking to spend under $80. Is there such a creature??

by duel interface USB what do you mean? I mean your pc is only going to see one USB input of audio.I use the Tascam US-100 which I got from Musicians Friend. With it,I can record my music to the pc as well as transfer records to mp3 files and just about any other
form of music you can think of.Think this one they had on sale for 69 bucks.I have been real pleased with it

What I am looking for is a USB interface with two inputs so I can record with two mics at the same time. I am new at this so I am not quite sure what the right terminology would be.

i dont know of anything that cheap. i know exactly what your looking for and i have a m audio fast track pro and with tax it came to $188.94 that probably sounds like its out of your budget. but it is a usb 2.0 interface with 2 instrument or line inputs also has enough out puts plus 1 midi in and 1 midi out and a headphone out.check it out online. i would try narrowing down what you need because you may not need any midi ports or all the out ports. your doing the right thing that is with all this stuff out there and especially when your new to it you got do a lot of research and only get what you need not what you want. hope that helps alittle and i also hope you do find something in your budget because creativity is a horrible thing to waste and in my opinion these companies make this stuff way to over priced and unaffordable for the talented people that dont have thousands to blow. hope it works out for ya man.
