need some help (recording w/ 2 mics)

me and myfreind r tryna record a rap song, wher we rap back and forth to each other,he do a line, i do a line....i was wondering

A. is this possible?

B. If so is it possible to make his mic not record when its my turn and then once i finish a line his recording automatically starts back...

C. If not then how wud i do it sounding good cuz then wont his mic pick up my voice...so woul ijust have to back and delete it on his track.

Try setting the mics up so you two face each other.

Record both parts at the same time (yes, there will be leakage, AKA your voice in his mic and vice-versa).

Then, once both parts are recorded on separate tracks, record each part again -- one at a time.

Remove the region for the first part you re-do, and just record it fresh (while listening to the 2nd part that was already recorded). Then, do the same for the 2nd part (while listening to the NEW 1st part).

That should work for you.
