Hello,Iv'e been working on this song for awhile and wondered what the mix sounds like to some fresh ears...the mix is getting kinda dense I think, and maybe a bit to much reverb? The song is called BSOD,Any feedback would be much apreciated!
Thanks!
Gene

BSOD

Bring the volume of the lead down. It's an ear killer...

Yeah, the lead is way louder than the other stuff.

Maybe cut out some of the low end on the leads, they kinda steal sonic space from everything else.

I definitely think you could tone down the reverb on the drums. The kick also seems to lack a little definition. It has low end to it, but it's kind of pillow-like. It needs a bit more attack. The same with with the bass guitar, needs a bit more midrange to my ear. There is a lot of lower midrange buildup. The balances are pretty decent overall. I do think the cymbals can come down a bit. Overall, not bad though.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my song...I kinda goofed on this one by rushing into mixing it after the last track was put down and taking off the headphones.I also dont like the drum loop that much to begin with,I initally just copied one specific loop just to get the groove down, and then went back and cut and pasted fills, crashes, etc.Being kinda new this type of recording,I'm having a hard time eq'ing the drum loops..kick drum specificly,as the eq I apply to the drum loop track effects the whole drum set.
I did take all who replieds advice and tried to fix guitar levels. Here is the link to the remixed version:
BSOD-REMIX

Drums still suck I think but this is just to give the other guys in my band to demo and see if they want to mess with it.Thanks agin for all the tipos/feedback!
