need some advice

whatup fellas?,
My 14 year old little cousin is planning on getting into producing music..he's already a piano player and a guitar player .....and he's damn good!(he's been playing for 7 years already!)anyway,his moms copped him that Fostex v16 digital multitrack and he has $1500 to spend on an accesory,he wants to cop either the Triton LE 61 key with sampler board or a MPC 2000xl but he's not sure which one.He's doing hip hop which he plans on sequencing and sampling..do any of you fellas have a preference ....if you HAD to go between these two toys which one would you choose and why...any help will be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like he needs the keys...

I don't know anything about the TRITON LE but it sounds like it's supposed to have the TRITON sound engine. With the sampler option and being only 14 I think dude will have enough to keep him lacing shit up til his 20's.

If it's any more money left I suggest a decent mic... Then he'll be set to run... This will give him a the vocals, the beats, and the daw.

Shit I whish I had that typa shit when I was 14...

put me down for the keys

the mpc is a must have after he gets the keys...especially if he's looking at a workstation which has a sampler :-)
and he can get one of those mpc sounds on a disk for the triton
 
Explain to him that the TRITON with the sampler option can pretty much do all the things a MPC can do plus much more. The stuff that the MPC does that the TRTION can't do are things dude probably won't ever even need. Definitely won't miss em...

Still churning em out... Just been crazy with some business type shit and just trying to pay bills. I keep saying I'm gonna post up but always forget... Should be something soon. I'm in that beat competition on THE WOMB and i'm tryin to hurt me some muthafuckers so it should be some crazy tracks getting posted. ;)
