I'm looking for a good LOW COST recording software. Something for a beginner. I found "MAGIX MUSIC STUDIO 10 DELUXE". Is this software any good?

what makes this software so good then...lol.

Let me know. i know ur a newbie, so am i.

Convince me why i should get this one.. lol

Well, its free, so you can try it without worrying about losing money. See if you like it. I had a look at spec comparison between that and Cubase, and Cubase doesn't have anything I need that Kristal doesn't. You might be different though. Also keep in mind that i haven't been using it for very long, so i might find something i don't like about it soon.

As for convincing you to get it, im not selling it so it really doesn't bother me if you get it or not

well, u sold it =D sounds pretty good. so what are u using it for? how long u been using KRISTAL?

Using it aboot a month. Can't really comment on it cos at the moment im only recording 2 guitars. But once i get an interface and a drummer it looks like everything should be cool.

Excellent. And this does, Editing, Mixing and everything, right?

Yeah it seems to be very similar to screenshots ive seen of Cubase. Now to wait for the posts to come rolling in abusing me about how different they are...

LOL... well, i can't wait to hear them =D it would definately help me decide..lol

Cubase SE is $99.00
The flagship Cubase SX is 579.00 not $1000

Kristal is limited to 16 audio tracks only and 2 insert slots per track which makes it very limited and there is no midi support whatsoever. Routing is also extremely limited (no aux/virtual buses)

Yeah it seems to be very similar to screenshots ive seen of Cubase

um, ok I would probably would not evalauate a prog by how much it looks like another program

If you are looking for a full featured DAW look at Tracktion, it has a very good learning curve and has all the features u need

Oh my god! how could you even compare those two programs   I wont even comment!  ;) :D

Told you they'd be here ;) . I believe i did say that it works for me but it might be different for others. Obviously they're not going to be the same, given the price differences

And that was just answering the editing/mixing capabilities question

I have tried that program and for starting out new it will work just fine, Its just very limited for my needs and I had to spend the bucks to get the proccesing power and track count I needed ;)

Well, i am using MIDI. Im basically recording VOCALS, GUITAR, BEAT MACHINE AND KEYBOARD. Basic R&B HIP HOP SHIT. Would KRISTAL be a helpful software or is there a better one out there.
