Need Serious Help!

I've got a band that consists of a drummer, bassist, and two guitarists. I have a 500mhz AMD procsessor with 128MB of ram and a 10Gb hard drive. I also have the turtle beach montego II sound card. I want to be able to record my band without spending over $300. Originally i thought that i could use a mixer. Will sombody please reccomend an easy and cost effective way to record!!!!

You can do it with what you got, but you'll be limited to two tracks at a time. If you play in real time you'll not be able to record each instrument to a separate track if you all play at once; you'll be force to overdub.

There are digital audio interfaces with more than 2 in, but they cost $... best deal might be the Gadget Labs 8-track card, then there's the Delta 1010 and the Layla24... but we're talking $500 and up here.

But with only 4 instruments (no singing?), a 4-in interface might be OK for your needs, and the Delta 66 (4 ins and outs, 6 if you can get 2 into a digital S/PDIF cable first) or the cheaper Gadget Labs cards are about $300.

There are vocals. I've been doing a lot of research and i think a good way of doing this could be to buy a multitrack. Preferably a digital one. Does anyone have any reccomendations?
 
I've heard a lot of good things about the Echo Layla24 and the M Audio Delta 1010. If 8 tracks is not enough, you can slave two or more together if you have enough PCI slots in your computer. Also look into MOTU (Mark of the Unicorn)-- they have a bunch of connectivity options using a single card, I believe.
 
Will somebody please tell me the cheapest way to record a 4 person band with vocals. what equipment do i need?
