Hello. I am a PC user (XP, 7 soon), and have twice tried the MBOX unsuccessfully on my system. It ran PT fine, but did not support quicktime, introduced latency when using Sound Forge (even after tweaking the device settings), and also had some other audio issues - wouldn't play back audio on YouTube, screwed up my Acid sessions.

I want to start using PT, and need a device with great sounding pre's (I record VO tracks daily), works well with Sound Forge, supports QT, and generally performs well and doesn't give me any of the above-mentioned grief. I need 2 channels of I/O in both XLR and 1/4", and MIDI in/out. Anything else would be gravy.

I know there are new MBOXs out now, don't know if they've resolved these issues, but would like to hear from you on any suggestions, personal experience etc.

Thanks for your help...JM

too me it sounds like your missing some drivers, your cpu memory is weak. more info would be helpful. how many gigs of ram do you have? how much hard drive space. what win xp service pack do you have. did you try uninstalling and then reinstalling your drivers and all of that? did you forget to restart your cpu after installing said drivers and programs?

I have 4 GB of ram, though at the time I may have only had 2. XP Service Pack 2. Both my work and data drives are 250 GB. I'm pretty sure I tried everything with the drivers I could think of, but it was a while ago and I can't be sure of exactly what I did. I know I changed the device settings to try and eliminate the latency. Even at minimal buffer, there was improvement, but still a lag. Thanks for your help.
