i would need a plugin for cubase sx, which lets me shift keys like at least 2 octaves..

heres what i want to do, incase someone has a better idea (it will probably cause a few laughs.. :))

i want to use my guitar to play basslines for my songs, so a plugin like that would allow me to simulate a bass (more or less)

yes, i know midi would b the perfect solution, but i cant work with that (yet) - and i dont want to either, i dont want "perfect" instrument parts.. if you know what i mean. :)

and yea, until i have a bass(player) i wanna try this :)

thanks alot :)

Actually,

It's not a bad idea at all. A guy I work with also does his basslines on the guitar. He, however tunes down a coupl of steps and EQ's the crap out of it. Same concept, just different ways of getting there...

Blind Cowboy...

Cubase has the built-in subbass module, too. At least 5.1 did. Might get better results too, unless KVR's pitch shift algorithm is a damn sight better than Acid's...

Not trying to be anal here, but just for other people's referance KvR is a great site that has up to date news and information about VST's. Ron pointed us to a review of a VST on the KvR site.

So yeah, KvR isn't a plug, it's a VST user's porn site, ek ek ek. Also has a great forum there focusing on VSTs.

I'd probably use something like Waves' Ultrapitch Shift, imho.

peace!
