Sort of a Japanese song with the staccato style and notes. It's good - I could see it in a Japanese type setting - TV, Theatre, movie etc...:)

and as you've hopefully discovered pentatonics are real limiting... but fun too and it's an area that should be experimented with for all who would be composers...

well, once I found "pentatonic minor", I wont lie, its my favorite, LMAO

I had a brief fling with Harmonic Minor that wasnt TOO unpleasant... but, I figure I lack the skill set to effectively use the "strained" thinner harmony scales. The strong perfect fifth relationship of the pentatonics allow me to change chords practically at will, but yeah, I cant seem to make the "big build ups" and raise tension the way I want to, more dramatically...

... my newest and most favorite toy right now is counterpoint...LMAO.

oh how i understand.... lmao... well listen to your bach fugues for inspiration...

i use this all the time in popish stuff... establish the key... part A is the melody... partB is the refrain... but they are over the same chords... and are contrapuntal to each other ... so when you kick it up a 1/2 step and play it together... ooooohhhh....

uhm... so, since this piano piece was fairly well received, would you want to brave listening to a more ambitious piece? It uses the same countermelody system as its core, so maybe I get a brownie point for carrying a theme thru a second piece thats completely different... *shrugs*
