Need more inputs!

so i have acquired a konnekt 24d, (please dont hate), and its very nice, sounds great, but it only has two inputs for simaltaneous recording.
I neeed upwards of 8, how would i go about that? should i plug the chosen instruments into an 8 track mixer and then into the konnekt? or would that be bad?

You can do that, but you will still only be able to record a 2-channel mix of whatever's playing through all those inputs.
