Need honest, brutal criticism

I think the dark sound suited the song. Reminded me of the sound on Black Sabbath Vol 4. Something odd with the compression. There seemed t be absolutely no decay, in fact almost the opposite, like the level stayed the same and then went up. Don't know if this was the compression on the guitars or a result of overall compression applied to the mix, they did seem to be some dipping of the guitars that seemed to be linked to the vocals. Some nice playing. Neve say never to experimenting though.

Yeah, it's from the compressor on the whole mix. I don 't know how to fix it, but I will keep trying. It sounds like a big block of sound, which, isn't what I really want to hear. It's a strange fact that no mix is the same, so , it can be hard to apply similar principles.
