Need help!!

hey, im going to buy my first 4 track recorder and i think i'll buy a tascam recorder. i am watching a bunch of Tascam portastudio 414 MkII's and tascam 414 portastudio's on ebay.
as i said before it is my first one and i dont know whats the best so can anybody recommend me one?

4 track cassette is a great way to start out in analogue and learn recording. I personally would go for the MKII version of the 414, if I was starting out. Simple, pretty recent design and sounds good.

I'd hold out...

I'd hold out for a Tascam 424mkII or 424mkIII.
If you can find a 244 or 246 in mint condition, is really the bomb.
Check the 488mkII. Get one in mint condition and you won't be sorry.
