Need Help!

I have a Fostex 280.... that the belt was off when I received it, so I never saw it on.
So I don't know how it goes on....
I have a belt and have put it on the best I can.

My problem:

The play/record head doesn't move into place.
I am wondering if this is a belt routing issue or is there more then one belt... I really can't tell if it takes more then one.

I press play and I see a small plunger type actuator move......but it doesn't appear to be hook to anything. I can manually move the head mount, but it doesn't stay in place. Does anyone know how to replace the belt or how to engage the play head.

My Foxtex x15 had a problem where the head would get stuck in the play position. I had to open it up and turn the belt and pulley with my finger until something clicked and finally released it. Your problem could be related to that same function. Sorry I have no more knowledge of what that mechanism is.
