need help

I'm still working on a motherboard problem.. trying to find a soundcard which would surely work with my future AMD based computer.

I was reading the ECHO MIA manual when I noticed the system requirements... They say that when using Athlon/Duron you should have AMD 760 chipset..... So I tried to find a motherboard with that chipset which would with in with 800 Mhz Duron.... couldn't find it???

Please help?

Is anybody using Echo Mia??? experiences??

I'm getting despered.... Will I find the right soundcard?

i wouldn't be too worried if i couldn't use my DURON.

They say MIA works AMD motherboard which have the VIA KT 133a chipsets...

that sounds cool...however, if you aren't sure you have the only sound card you'll ever need, why buy a motherboard FOR your soundcard?

yep that sounds a bit strange...

But I have considered few other soundcards with the same price range (Terratec EWX 24/96 and audiophile 24/96...)
I Think MIA is the best i have not used any of them but I have a scent that she would be the right card to me... I love the sound of her name MIA, mia oh... those italians are so beautiful...

and it hapens to be the one which works with the chipset... I have consulted the supports of the others and they are like: "yeah it might work....but there nothing wrong with our card it's the VIA chipset that's buggy" ??? but I'm not gonna but my money on something that might work....

I have an idea that I'll buy Johnson J-station which has a s/pdif out which I'll plug to MIA. and because with Mia you can simultanously record analog and digital so I'll be having 3 I/O plus those 8 virual outs... which seems nice... by the way I'm planing to buy the ART tube preamp system cause i need something between my mics and the soundcard. It costs about 305 EUR (220$). Do you know any cheaper solution? Any experiences with that thingy???

i think all that stuff is usable....however, i haven't used any of that stuff.

Here is a reply from echo support:

"Hello Riku,
We do not support ABIT motherboards. We have had clients have great success
with ABIT motherboards while others have had major problems. Of the VIA
chipsets we support the KT-133, KX-133 and the AMD 760 also known as the 761
or 762.

Elbenj just reported me that he is having some troubles with MIA... I have to hear where this going from here, but it sounds like an U-turn and now I'm back to square one...
