Need help

I cant get Cubase to switch my input from the laptop mic to the USB input...I go into set up and it just tells me inactive on the USB Codec Mic. and I cant find anywhere to switch this...any help would be great
 
We can help, but we need a bit more into.

Which Cubase do you have?

Do you have an audio interface? What are you connecting with USB?

Thanks...I have the AI4 (the free one that comes with my behringer mixer. I connect my mixer to the laptop through the Behringer U Control USB. The ASIO is the only thing present in the drop down box so I guess its default.
 
Did you install the latest driver for your Behringer audio interface?

Look here;

In cubase go to Devices/Device set up/VST Audio systems and select the behringer asio driver.

Select also: Release Driver when application in background

Now someware you should set your buffersize/latency.

Sometimes there is a seperate icon in the windows control panel, but it can also be seen in cubase below VST audio systems.
Most of the time as the name of the asio driver. In that case click on it and you see a new screen. where on top you see Control panel. Click on this and chose something between 5 and 10 ms.

Now click on ok when closing the windows and everything should work.
