I have a tc helicon voiceworks plus and i'm trying to use it with my steinberg mr816csx interface. So far the only solution I could figure out is to plug my mic into the voiceworks, then using the stereo out (random side question: should i even use stereo for recording vocal tracks?) into my interface. The problem with this is that I don't know wether having two preamps in my signal chain is really all that practical.

On the voiceworks plus there is a mic in, built in preamp, stereo outs, and a mono line input. Could anyone help me set this baby up?

Record your vox in mono.

Use the line in on the tc from your preamp and send the stereo outs to a new track in your DAW.

In your recording software you should be able to select L, R, or stereo for your input.

May be best to record your vox dry and use the tc later as an outboard FX. Then you aren't stuck with an FX'd take as your master and you can add FX later and still have a dry take if you don't like the result and want to try something else.
