Hi, I'm a rookie at anything to do with recording. We recorded for the first time last saturday and everything sounds great except the vocals. I need to assign reverb to the vocal channels but can't seem to get it done. Can someone walk me thru the process on the 2488ii. I've read the manual but I'm missing something...thanks

Found the manual online and...

If you're thinking you can simply add an effect to a particular track like you can on a computer based DAW, I don't think think it works that way. You've got an affects loop like on a proper mixer, you select which effect(s) are enabled, and at what level, to the effects loop, then you select which tracks are sent to the effects loop. The effects return is then sent to the master stereo buss, or to a bounce mix.

Reference pages 23 (under "Effect send") and 34 (under "Single effect") in your manual. That'll tell you how to set it up.

I've never used this recorder before so I can't explain the process in a simplified way.

Jeez, who writes these manuals...

It's there, but I can see why you'd struggle with it.

TGM above is correct in the way it works, you send the track to an AUX buss which has the selected effect on it and I assume use the track fader to dial in the amount...

That's the way it works on my Yamaha AW4416 as well, but it's a lot more intuitive on that machine.

Pressing on the Multi-Effect button seems the way to start the process..

and, as GT and I have both said in your double posting - go to the Tascam forum and ask there..

The internal or loop reverb is accessed thru the send functions. You can send as much signal from any channel to the reverb and there is also a setting for the return level. The effect it's self is accessed thru the 'singe effect' function, there you can select the effect and tailor it to your needs.

BTW there is an excellent users group for Tascam and the 2488:

Thanks for the info, and the effort that some on you went into. I will let you know how it goes.....
