I can't here any output while working with Home Studio 2002. It says I didn't choose any MIDI outputs, but I checked my computer and I have plenty. The problem is though, only one (MIDI Mapper) shows up as an option for me. On my labtop i have no problems, All MIDI output options are available and I get sound. On my desktop I've also got Fuity Loops 2.7 (which I have no manual to; would like one) but i get sound from it. I don't under stand the problem. Also, (considering I could get HS2002 to produce sound) how do I merge what I've made on 'Loops to Home Studio?............HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I don't use HS 2002 but SONAR, but I believe any Cakey will show the MIDI port in Options --> MIDI Devices, if you install propher driver. If it's already there, then hilight it / them. ;) Anyway, what's your sound / MIDI card ? And how come your Software didn't come with any manual ? Even if you buy online, they will bundle the manual in certain file format (.doc, .rtf, .pdf, etc...).

OR.....?

There Are More Questions Than Aswers...

Greetings Monzerelli,

1) Does your audiocard have a sound chip?
Yes: You should be hearing sounds.
No: You'll need to use a DXi such as Edirol VSC.
See page 2-43 of the manual that came with your HS2002 software, the chapter is headed: Tutorial 8-Using Soft Synths

Those tutorials are very handy for the newcomer to HS2002 ;)

2) Fruity Loops is a soft-synth/sequencer all rolled into one. That's why it makes noises and you can hear them. The demos are quite neat, but a little too dance-oriented for my liking. It's the sort of stuff my son likes listening to.

I personally don't like FL's interface, but there are many who swear by it. I just swear at it :) I have a copy of FL that came bundled with my audiocard, no manual though.
