i have tried everything but i cant seem to get it set up to record two simutanious tracks into audition. when i go into the track input settings the only options it gives me are left right and stereo, ... the tone port sends are 1 and 2 for one input(i.e. guitar) and then 3 and 4 for the second input,(i.e. vocals) but its not letting me select those in audition. do i need to upgrade to audition 2.0 to be able to do this?

No, You don’t need AA 2,0 for that!
Number of simultaneous recording track is depending of your sound card.
I think the cheapest one can give you 2 simulations track possibility-(Two mono tracks or one stereo)

You need to set up first track for MONO Left recording and the second track to MONO RIGHT.
Press REC on both tracks and make sure that your two instruments are connected each to its input.
Then click REC on your CEP player.

I've never used the TonePort, so I'm not sure.

Did you check the device properties/settings?

Also take a look at the screenshot I attached.

After clicking those buttons a new window will pop up titled Playback Devices [Track #]. Click "properties" and check to see if all inputs are available.

when i click on that its only showing up the left and right and stereo channels for some reason.

i figured out the problem. the ux2 uses asio drivers for channels 3/4, and 1.5 doesnt support asio, so, i guess i should give in and upgrade to 2.0 huh
