Hi. We're new to this forum and new to the home recording scene. We recently purchased the 2496 and cannot get it to work. We use Acid and Soundforge for recording and editing purposes. Our computer is a Pentium 3 w/60 gig HD, 7200 mhz processor (I think that's right - - we had it built with recording music in mind). We use the Fender Passport P150 for mixing and route the passport to soundcard. I would also like to monitor the mixes through the Passport PA system. The problem is: I can get the factory installed soundcard to work properly, but the 2496 only gives off a small hum and clicks and pops and sometimes stops in the middle of playback. I have yet to be able to get a recorded sound from the 2496.

Can anyone help me with the Delta Control Panel issues I've been having? Like I said, I am a novice at home recording and I have read the 2496 manual probably 50 times and still can't get it to work. I have also contacted M-Audio and haven't gotten a response. Thanks for anyone's help!

1. First I would disable the onboard soundcard thru your device manager.
2. Once done, open Soundforge and go to the properties tab.
Select the AP2496 as the primary playback and record device.
3. Check your AP control panel and see if the main outs and record monitor are muted, uncheck if they are. You may also need to bring up the faders and check stereo lock so both left & right chls. slide together.
