I posted this in the Presonus forums as well, but the response there seems to be hit or miss so I thought I would see if anyone here knows how to do it. I hope this is the right forum for this, I think it fits in a few different categories.

I'm trying to use an iRig HD as an input for my guitar to record in Studio One Producer (my Audiobox USB is out for repair), but I can't figure out how to add it as an interface. I'm using an iMac and the iRig HD is "seen" by the computer (listed in the inputs) and I can use it in Amplitube if I run it stand-alone, but I can't figure out how to add the iRig HD as the input device for Studio One to use.

I guess this is impossible. No replies here or on the Presonus thread I created in the Tech Support forum.

Really sucks cause my Audiobox is going to be out for 2-3 weeks getting repaired. I guess I have to use Reaper instead for the time being.

I have StudioOne but I've never used an iRig. I guess when inside studio one before you open a session there is the Setup area where it shows your devices. You click configure Audio Device and you don't see the iRig? Does iRig have true ASIO drivers? If not you could try the free asio4all drivers to try and make it work. If none of that works, I got nothing.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using a Mac so I don't need drivers. When I plug in the iRig HD it...just works. I don't see the iRig in the interfaces list when setting up the project. It's not listed and I'm not sure how to add it.

I don't think it needs to be listed. You're able to play the guitar through the Amplitube right? If you're able to use Amplitube as a plug-in Studio One then it doesn't seem like it would matter if it was listed or not. I know nothing about iRig or Studio One so I'm probably not helping you at all. However, if I were there where i could actually look at everything and the connections, i guarantee you that I could make it work. Almost everything you're talking about is made by Apple, or made to run with Apple, so I know there is a way to do it. Good luck! Wish I could have been more help.

I received a response from Presonus tech support on this tonight so I thought I would share the solution.

Apparently Studio One needs the device you use to record to be both an input and output device (they are thinking of a typical interface I guess). I had to add an Aggregate device and then choose that in Studio One. There are some instructions on how to do that here.

It works great and I can now record my guitars while my Audiobox USB is being repaired.

iRig HD uses CoreAudio drivers built in to Mac OS. Same goes for the new iRig Pro. If you are having problems getting it to work right, contact support for 1 on 1 help with your set up.
