Heres a sample of the work done so far its not in the exact order as i brought in all the instruments at once...This song is actually for my upcoming album but if i dont mix this song properly tis will be a shame

Heres what I did to the instruments + female singer:

Piano: Concert reverb plate used
Eqed:
rolled off 250Hz
cut 395Hz by 5dB
cut 921Hz by 10dB

Female singer:
Eqed:
Rolled off 120 Hz

Compression used on her:
Ratio 3:1
48.9 ms attack and 174 ms release

Reverb:
decay: 2.0ms
room size: 50/100
Reverb %: 10%
Colour: Bright
Predelay: None
LowCut: 389Hz
Highcut: 4.0kHz
High Damping: 5.4kHz
Dry: 100%
Diffusion: 100%

Delay: Time 4:00

Strings:

Eqed:
rolled off 200Hz
cut 1480Hz by 5dB
Raised 12000Hz by 10dB

reverb: Concert reverb plate same as the piano

Strings 2
:
Same settings

Hihat: none
Snare: Slight Reverb
Kick: Just raised the eq

Synth:
Eqed:
Rolled off: 100Hz
Cut 1400Hz by 4dB
Raised 7300 by 6dB

Reverb:
decay: 1.5sec
Reverb %: 20%
Roomsize: 40/100
Colour: Flat
Lowcut: 75Hz
Highcut: 4.0Khz
High Damping: 4.0kHz
Dry: 100%
diffusion: 100%

Brass stereo:
Eqed:
Rolled off 50Hz
Cut 310Hz by 3dB
cut 1890Hz by 5dB
Reverb: same plate as piano and strings

Brass mono played one octave lower on top of brass stereo:

eqed:
roilled of 50Hz
Cut 445Hz by 10dB
Cut 2300Hz by 10dB
reverb used the same reverb plate but reduced the reverb effect by 80% since its a bit bassy

Bass used is a sub bass: nothing done

Piano, brass and string samples are in full stereo by the way

can someone please tell me if there are any rules in eqing and panning:

1) Strings
2) Piano
3) Brass
4) Synth

Or possibly suggest me some songs which may have the same instruments so I can learn from that and stuff...

So far I think I got the beat and the strings to fit together and I think I got the female singer to sit but I'm not sure what type of reverb to use...
Its just the brass and piano which keeps bugging me...

wow way to ambitious for me :D sorry I can't really help. So far it sounds good and has that nice hip hop drum machine going. I think the snare is a bit too bright? but that's just me.

But are you going to rap over it like you did in your video?

Yeah, the hihat and snare seem way too out front to me, to start with.

Oh this track won't be released for a while since I'm doing a collab with another rapper whos American...Basically east meets west lol
So the tune itself could change in time...

Would you know of any songs which may have similar instrumental arrangements which I can learn from?

Sorry can't think of anything. Most of the music I listen to doesn't really have too much instrumental arraignment, mainly just a 1-2-3-4, some noise and then its all over in about 1:30 :D

It seems like there are a lot of mainstream pop of hip-hop songs that do this kind of build up. Sadly you might have to listen to crap like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0habxsuXW4g

Ive been brought up in pretty much every genre of music so Im quite tolerant to even pop stuff lol. Just because Im a mentally deranged lunatic when it comes to writing rap songs doesn't mean I cant still express my emotions on a song meant for "pop" people lol

This song doesnt have any strings or brass :S

I think what you have and the path your taking is fine. I don't think you need to go off what others are doing. I am sure there are others who have a better ear of managing the stereo landscape of so many instruments, so I will just shut up :)
