I have a cad trion 8000, adobe audition, and an m-audio mobile pre.
I'm not new when it comes to recording, just having trouble getting this style of mixing. mainly vocals and guitar and getting them to mix together.

How do I achieve this vocal/guitar mix?

What type of compression on vocals? Specifically how to make it sound breathier? And EQ? And any (i know usually very little) effects on acoustic guitar? Any good plugins I should check out? Please describe in details.
I can never get acoustic guitar and vocals to just sound as one track, it always sounds like two being mashed and forced together. But please, help! I'm a little desperate and embaressed :P

I don't get it is that not your song and you want to make a recording like that guitar and vocal?

That comes down a lot to playing technique. If your vocals and guitar don't gel together to begin with then nothing in the mixing stage will fix that.

Sending the guitar and vocals to the same reverb can help to create the effect that they are in the same room.

Now, if you don't sing like this dude, guess what, you won't sound like that. Making it breathier is EQ, not compression.

Posting an example of how your mix sounds at the moment would help quite a bit as opposed to linking somebody else's song and expecting us to know how to manipulate your recording to sound like that without hearing it.

im trying to get that sound, just dont know how to get that quality of vocals, and how to mix it in with the acoustic guitar. thats all im doing is acoustic guitar and vocals.

i do have the softer quiet vocals, breathier in a way...but just want to sort of mimmick that mix. for some reason the mix just sounds great to me, and how the vocals are produced.
