Need help for a Presonus Eureka preamp

Hi everyone, i'm new here. One month ago i've bought a Presonus Eureka preamp on Ebay and when i've received it the preamp was already setted, and everything worked fine. The sound was really good. Then yesterday, i've took the book and setted the buttons exactly like they we're saying and now the sound is not good at all, the compressor doesn't seem to do the job and i'm really desperate. It was pretty stupid to do that and i don't remember how the preamp was setted.. 1st i want to know if the buttons are already setted when u buy a presonus eureka, cause i'm pretty sure that the preamp is a new one, but i've bought on Ebay so you never know..Cause when i look at the pictures on the Eureka website, all the buttons are setted in the middle and when i've received mine, all the buttons we're setted in a different way than the pictures. I would like if you could give me you're settings if you're using a Eureka or if you know the preamp. For now, i only use the preamp for vocals, and i'm doing hiphop/Rnb music. thx !

What exactly do you mean by setting the buttons? There's never one right way to set the buttons/knobs. If that were the case, there would be no need for the controls anyway. Nobody can really help if you right now because you have to understand what the knobs do, and then use that to get what you want. Even if what you want is pretty much always the same, you will still need to use different settings every time, because no one song/singer/instruments whatever is the same.

Set all the knobs to 11, then you'll be "setted"

sorry for the stupid question. I have found in the past with my tampa, a good setting that I used for everything, and I did most of the compression afterwards with waves. thought someone may have found a good setting for themselves that maybe I can try out. thanks anyway guys.
