Sounds very good. Drums are a bit low on the mix. I wish I could have your mic setup for the drums :( How much did it cost?

Thanks guys, I'll try to figure out how much the mikes cost...keep in mind these are all Canadian dollars, so you can figure out the xchange rate etc...

Kick: Sennheiser E602 about $300
Snare: SM57 on Top ($100), SM58 on bottom ($100)
Toms: CAD cheapie mikes from a drum mic kit (this was like $450 for the whole kit which included three dynamic and two small diaphram mikes)
Overheads: A Rode NT1 ($300) and a CAD small diaphram mike.

So that's about $1350 worth of mikes... not much compared to most guys here I'm sure

I listened to the top song.

Sounded really good overall. Bass auta really make that rock.

The kick was a little poppy I thought, and the cymbols were panned a little wide for my tastes, but mostly the drums sounded killer to me. I liked the pan on the toms, and the bassy tone.

Wow,
awesome drummer! I listened to all three of them, and they all sound good. I would like a little bit more bottom end for a little extra thump, and a little more sizzle on the high end. Great playing! Post more when you get the rest of it finished! Bsabbath, and cranky would like this stuff!

Right on, thanks a lot man! I have trouble judging the very low frequencies and the highs too, since I'm using crap monitors in a room with no treatment...I basically have to mix by trial and error.

hmm, I've gotten the "cymbals panned too wide" comment a few times. Don't most people just pan the overheads hard left and right? I guess I could put them at 9 and 3, hopefully they're in phase:)

rock on

Rick
