I think the guitars are to loud...Drums are not really mixed properly....bass gets drowned out when distortion guitar comes in.

I think the vocals would probably sound ok if everything else was adjusted.

The compression on vocals isnt adjusted properly...you need to adjust your attack and release.

Everything in the mix is fighting for the same freqs so you need to start highpassing and lowpassing instruments like guitar...To many things wrong with drums to really comment.

I like the singers voice...its nice...have you thought about giving more experinced mixers a carck at mixing this...If you post a link to WAV files we could try a mix.

LOL OK, IM NOT LOOKING TO GET ABUSED, I JUST WANT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, sorry for the caps. But ya I will work on the drums and the mixing

He is criticizing you constructively! The guitars are too loud; I don't think the drums have enough punch; they need to be brought up in the mix. As for the fighting for the same frequencies, I agree. It sounds very busy in the mid-range; very honky. Don't get discouraged though! Mixing is an art that is about feeling around. The amount of work someone puts into a mix can distort his or her view of it, so we all put them up to get as many opinions as possible. Try using the aforementioned tips and then see how it sounds!

I myself am not that great of a mixer yet, but the beauty of this is that it's music; anyone can have an opinion on how it sounds; some people are just better at explaining why certain things are!

Yeah I was definately trying to be constructive in my comments...mixing takes a long time to get good at and its forever a work in progress.

I would start the mix over and remove all plugins and just get the mix sounding good without plugins...once you do that then see what certain things may or may not need...build the mix around the kick, bass, snare and vocal and have everything else support the song...things like guitar should support vocals and not fight with them to be the lead instrument.

I usually get all the levels and panning the way I like it...then I start highpassing and lowpassing certain things in mix...compression is only something I use if I have to however some instruments need it like bass guitar...sometimes I dont even compress the kick.

Here is an example of a mix im working on...its not perfect however the guitars are supporting vocals instead of fighting with them.

Right click save then listen.

that sounds pretty good, I redid some EQ, removed some midrange out of the distorted guitar, and worked on some volume levels in alot of the tracks here it is http://db.tt/4P8xPfL
I'll update the original link up above as well
