Wicked Machine
Even though I have AutoCad 2005 on my work Laptop I hardly use ACAD and it's too difficult for basic stuff.

Anyone aware of a freeware (or really cheap) type floor plan program? I've heard of Smart draw but it's a little pricey. I just want something easy to use for my basement projects...and maybe a deck.

Rage,

How in the world did you get a copy of autocad 2005 to put on your machine?

It's my work computer, I dont own it. I use very high end electronic CAD toos, this notebook has way over $100,000 in software on it...mosty ran off corporate servers and that's how ACAD is setup. I don't do much in ACAD (mainly used for DXF purposes) so I want to find something easy to use. ACAD has a kind of steep learning curve too.

Actually - once you get used to it it really isn't all that bad - I use it every day........

I've used a shitload of cad programs and that Sketchup seems amazing for a free program. It's better then most of the under $1000 programs. I haven't tried anything too complex yet but so far it's pretty cool.
