I recorded this song a few months ago and I'm not really happy with how it sounds. I feel like there are a few things just wrong in it but I don't know what(cause I'm just new in recording). Also, because it's my own band, I recorded, mixed and mastered it myself I can't step away from it and listen to it in an objective way. that's why I need your opinion! It's a punkrock'n roll song. ;) And you can find it here:

Thanx!

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but the rhythm guitar at intro sounds pretty lo-fi compare to the lead git. I thought that was a weird balance to hear they bounce left and right...

The lead vocal could come up a bit. the drums sound like they were pretty well recorded, but I think it's lacking some highs. A little delay or verb might be cool for the instrumental part around 4:20

The overall mix is decent, but somehow not as in-your-face as I expect out of a tune like this.

Sorry, Im not really being helpful here, but keep up the good work tho

seems as though all the pieces are there for a descent mix... but sounds AM radio'ish. overall balance seems Okay but little depth and width... maybe monolithic sounding

FWIW...

start with the kit and add ambience. very small amounts will go a long ways. you know you don't want much for punk.

EQ the snare or replace it with a sample

the Kick seems a bit muffled with little punch

same for Bass

add a small amount of short reverb to the whole mix. you don't want to hear the reverb or really even tell that it's there... just make it feel like it's in a room

I'd love to give your tracks a try... if interested let me know.
